What happens during the consultation call?

It’s a brief 15-minute conversation to understand your needs, discuss goals, and ensure Windmills is the right fit before scheduling a session.

Do you accept insurance?

Windmills operates primarily as a private-pay practice and is in-network with Aetna, Cigna/Evernorth, and UnitedHealthcare. Superbills are available for out-of-network reimbursement.

Where are sessions held?

Most sessions are held via secure Telehealth for clients across Florida. Limited in-person sessions are available in Miami-Dade by request.

Do you work with couples?

Yes — couples therapy is offered for partners seeking to improve communication, restore connection, or navigate the impact of high-stress careers on relationships.

Are consultations or sessions available in Spanish?

Yes! We offer a free 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your concerns, answer questions, and see if Windmills is a good fit for your needs.

Q: Are sessions virtual or in person?

Most sessions are currently held virtually for clients across Florida. In-person sessions may be arranged in advance on a case-by-case basis, depending on location and availability. These may require additional coordination and deposit fees.

Q: Do you provide diagnoses?

Yes. When clinically appropriate, a diagnosis may be provided as part of your treatment plan or documentation (e.g., for FMLA or insurance-related needs). However, a formal diagnosis is never required to begin therapy. Many clients seek support for personal growth, clarity, or emotional resilience without having a specific condition—and that’s valid too.

Q: Do you work with children?

We do not see children under the age of 14 at this time.  Windmills provides therapy for teens (14+), adults and couples.

Q: How long are therapy sessions?

Sessions typically run 45–60 minutes. The exact length may vary depending on your needs and goals. If you’re using insurance, session length may also be determined by your plan’s coverage (some plans authorize only 45 minutes).

Q: How long will I need to be in therapy?

There’s no “one-size-fits-all” answer. Some clients come for a few months to address a specific issue, while others continue longer-term for ongoing support, growth, or maintenance. Together, we’ll review your goals regularly and decide what pace and length of therapy best fit your journey. You are never locked into a set timeframe—therapy is always collaborative and flexible.

Q: Can I get a letter or evaluation right away?

Not always. All letters and evaluations are provided only after an established clinical relationship and appropriate assessment. This may require multiple sessions and cannot be guaranteed in advance.
